3. Disorders

Exam focus: The muscular-disorder pair NEET likes to swap is myasthenia gravis (autoimmune — antibodies attack acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction, causing fatigue) against muscular dystrophy (genetic, progressive degeneration of skeletal muscle, no immune component at all). Tetany is a different mechanism again — spasms from low blood Ca2+, not muscle wasting.
