Enter what you attempted and what you got right in each section. This uses the same rules the mock tests are scored with, so the two numbers cannot disagree.

+4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one, 0 for a blank. A wrong answer costs you the mark AND the four you would have earned, so a guess pays only when you can eliminate two options with confidence.

Common questions

How is the NEET score calculated?

Every question carries 4 marks. A correct answer earns +4, a wrong one costs −1, and an unattempted one scores 0. 180 questions make 720 marks: Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Botany 45, Zoology 45.

Is there negative marking in NEET?

Yes — one mark for every wrong answer. A wrong guess therefore costs five marks relative to a correct one and one relative to a blank, which is why guessing pays only when you can eliminate at least two options.

Is there still an optional section?

No. From 2025 the paper reverted to 180 compulsory questions in 180 minutes. The 2021–2024 pattern of 200 questions with 10 of 15 attemptable in Section B is gone.

What is a good score in NEET?

Qualifying is a percentile — 50th for UR/EWS, 40th for OBC/SC/ST — which has fallen between about 117 and 162 marks in recent years. A government MBBS seat in most states has needed far more than that. See the sourced cut-offs page rather than a predicted number.
